How to Avoid and Fix Mistakes with Scrapbook

Most people who like to scrap book they will spend a lot of time and money on their creative flow, but you will want to make sure that you look at each page for any mistakes before you finish and after you have finished. People make mistakes, but you have to learn how to correct the mistakes before you move on to another page of the album. You will find that there are steps that you will want to take to prevent any mistakes or accidents; however, you can fix your album so that no one knows the difference.

The most common mistake happens to be something like a spill of some sort.. It’s not something you think about a lot of the time, but protect your work by keeping food and drink separate from your crafting station. Also make sure that you tell your family about how important it is to you and that it is not good to knock over anything that could destroy all your hard work. Also, immediately put your pages into page protectors when they are finished. Most albums come with these plastic protectors, but in case you run out, have a back up plan. You will want to keep some extra page protectors in a binder, but you will also want to use them to store pages until you can buy a refill pack that fits the album. This will help keep your pages safe from spills and messy hands.

Another common mistake is when you just make a simple error in creating pages. Always check your spelling before you begin journaling. You will want to write out your messages on a separate piece of paper and then you can write it in the scrapbook. Write your words on the paper before gluing it to the page if possible; that way, if you make a mistake you can start over without having to ruin the whole page.  If you are using glue, you will want to make a template so that you can practice your skills before you try to get in your scrapbook. If you make a spelling error, you can easily glue the second piece of paper over the first and no one will be able to tell. Other mistakes made when journaling, such as stray marks, can be covered with stickers or die cuts.

You will also want to be open to reworking in design. You will find that it is easy for you to make a mistake on where to lay a picture or how you can place an embellishment. When you make the layout, you’ll be able to save yourself a lot of time fixing the mistakes.. Make the most of the goof—often times you will be surprised that the new look is actually better than the original. If all else fails carefully cut each element from the background sheet and start again. This way, you will only ruin one piece of paper and you won’t do any harm to the final outcome of the book. If you find that your hands are unsteady and you often mislay elements, you might want to invest in removable tape or glue. You can easily move these types of adhesives so that you can reduce the amount of mistakes that you make.

You will want to learn how to try to laugh the mistakes off, especially when they are unfixable. You will find that the scrapbooks are homemade, and they will never be perfect. To error is human, you will want to keep this in mind, but the errors will give the art some charm. Often mistakes can be avoided; however, dramatic mistakes can build character.
